Cinema’s exciting entries to Cinema IndioFest 2004

HOLLYWOOD – Two exciting films from Star Cinema
Productions will be screened at this year’s Cinema Indio Festival.
:Milan is the setting of an all-consuming love affair and a young
couple’s desperate quest for survival. Claudine Barretto and
Piolo Pascual play the central characters in this film by Olivia
M. Lamasan.
Another drama by Marilou Diaz Abaya is Noon at Ngayon,
a story about four unconventional women who share a long and lasting
friendship through the years. Joey (Dina Bonnevie), after nearly
living for a decade in the United States, discovers that a lot of
things have changed but some things remain constant.
The four women try to reconcile the past with the
present to cope with the changing times. The film also stars Laurice
Guillen, Cherry Pie Picache, Jean Garcia, Eula Valdez, Jericho Rosales,
Marvin Agustin, Patrick Garcia, Jodi Sta Maria, Dimples Romana,
Aiza Marquez and Paolo Contis. The movies will be showing on Friday,
November 19 at the Scientology Theatre beginning at 7 PM-11PM.
The 2004 Cinema IndioFest kicks off on Thursday, November
18, 2004 at seven o’clock. Set at the Celebrity Centre International,
5930 Franklin Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90029. Its opening night screenings
include Hubert Cheng’s drama thriller, First Night Shift starring
Lara Fabregas, and Krista Grabriela Lluch Dalena’s Red Saga
and a powerful documentary, Echoes of Bullets/Alingawngaw ng mga
Punglo.
Other films to be screened are Mano Po2 and I Will
Survive from Regal Films (Saturday, November 20 2:30PM-7PM); Adarna,
Gerry Garcia’s full-length animation (2:30 PM) Maryo J. de
los Reyes’Magnifico (4PM) and Mark Meily’s Crying Ladies
(6PM) on Sunday, November 21. The closing night, Monday, November
22, features Ramona S. Diaz’s Imelda, the award-winning documentary
about former First Lady, Imelda Romualdez Marcos (8PM).
